The Best way to ski on a Snow Biste simulator is Hovering

https://snowbiste.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Shorter-length-video-for-Sept-21-2022-blog-entry.mp4

The Best way to ski on a Snow Biste simulator is Hovering; skiing on the simulator without the use of the hand-bar.  This requires you to be able to proficiently utilize the skills you are taught during your training sessions, into effective functional movement patterns that optimize your ski turns.  Hovering is not easy, but the Biste Methodology is designed to bring you to that level.  Hovering on the simulator, strengthens your ski specific muscles 3X faster than skiing with the Hand-bar.  Hovering is the level every racer and athlete with high aspirations should strive for and is the goal if you really want to get better!   If you want to ski ANY terrain efficiently and effectively, then you need to learn to Hover.  However, if you just want to learn how to ski, get more confidence or a basic ski skill tune-up for safety, then successfully achieving the ability to hover is not necessary.

First Training Session

During your first training session, The Foundational, you’ll be asked what your goals are.  If your goal is simply to learn the basics, expect 8 half hour Developmental Sessions.  If your goal is to be the best in your group or to be a competitive ski athlete, then expect the journey to take longer. Hovering is not easy as you must develop the understanding, skills and fitness to do it correctly.  For the best 12–15-year-old athletes, that takes 8 to 12 sessions.  For a physically fit Masters skier able to ski most any terrain, that can take an even longer 12-50 Developmental Sessions.  That’s because experienced skiers that aren’t racing World Cup have a lot of bad habits that need to be broken down and rebuilt in the right manner. Everyone is different in how they learn.  The Biste Methodology takes that into account by creating the Functional Movement Patterns through skill building drills that build upon one another.

Monthly Ski Training

Monthly ski training packages are available to help you achieve your goals with 2X or 3X per week training sessions.  If you don’t have structure in your schedule, there are 8 and 12 pack Developmental sessions that aren’t confined to a monthly 30-day period.  Be prepared to schedule your weekly days in advance at your Foundational sessions as the schedule fills up quickly during the months of September through the end of March.

Kris Buttenberg, at Biste Technologies, has invented a truly one-of-a-kind experience in South Reno. It’s as close to skiing as you can get in the heat of a Nevada summer and we are working with him to provide access to SBA athletes over the summer. The machine demands ankle flexion and the activa… Read more

My wife and I saw the article on Biste in the RGJ. We had plateaued in our skiing ability — basically being stuck at the “Advanced-minus” level for the last several years. We were ready and eager to take it to the next level. We had tried “on the mountain” lessons but were frustrated that in a one-h… Read more

Kris, I truly appreciated having the fastest skier on the hill take time out to assist me with learning how to prepare for the race. I’m very optimistic that we’ll continue to clear up the items we’ve been working on and I’ll be quite a bit faster racing. Best Regards,
Kirk

The classes helped immensely!! Kellen and the twins were as good as other kids who had been skiing many more days before them this year, so it was fantastic that they could just dive right in and be at the same level. Exactly what I wanted.

Working with Kris on the ski desk was by far the best ski learning experience I’ve had. He obviously really knows his stuff and is able to communicate it well. Skiing on the deck gave me much more intense practice and with him right there watching, he could see exactly what I was doing when and coul… Read more

So so Happy! I’m getting it! Spent time going down Kit Carson yesterday and I could actually feel the skills, and could go back and forth many many times over(not just three!) I was swooshing and it felt natural, secondary! My hubby even said I finally looked relaxed while skiing correctly! Brian is… Read more

We tried out this endless ski slope a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. It was the next best thing to being on snow and in one session I felt like I worked out this weird right leg under edging thing I could not put my finger on all winter. ‘Their’ alpine race watches and instructs, it’s very int… Read more
