Chris Oggerino began his ski career as a young kid with a brief racing career in Zurich Switzerland in their Junior League. The experience cemented his love of the sport and provided early opportunities to help others with their skiing. Prior to his adult career in software technology Chris raced NCAA. 17 years ago, Chris began a side career teaching skiing at both Sky Tavern and Mt. Rose where he is currently the Trainer of Instructors. Chris has accomplished certifications as a PSIA instructor including Level 3 Alpine, Level 2 Children, Level 2 Seniors and Level 1 Freestyle certifications. We’re excited to have Chris join our team! 2019 Name that Drill Winner!
Congratulations Ryan Herhusky for winning the 2019 Name that Drill Contest. Ryan, pictured left and in course, is a U16 from Sugar Bowl Academy. He earned the right to name a drill through a 2nd place podium finish in Slalom. The race was at Proctor Ski Area in NH December 31, 2018.
Ryan came to the Snow Biste during the summer training sessions, and since has had the best season of his race career with several podiums and top tens. Ryan is the second Biste student to have a Method drill named after him, following Tea Kiesel a U16 who won the contest in 2018. To win you need to be the first Snow Biste student to earn a podium finish during the season.
Congratulations Ryan Herhusky for all your hard work and dedication to the sport!
2019 Biste Ski Team Results
Accelerated Learning Curves
TeamBiste is having another amazing ski racing year. With only one more race to go, Season Finals at Alpine Meadows April 5th and 6th, two of the racers, Scott and Kris, are currently in 2nd and 3rd place Open Class, with Kirk Swanson 1st within his class 7 age group.
Dave Reeves, a second-year racer, joined the team this past summer and has already reached the podium! Now that may not sound like a lot but believe me it is. Class 7 and Class 8 are the largest groups in the Far West division of the USSA Masters and contain the fastest racers in the west. Congratulations team keep up the good work!
If you want to get better in the sport of skiing there is no better way than to develop your skills on the #SnowBiste ski simulator located in Reno, NV.
